"I decided to get into public service for its nobility in helping my fellow man." I OPPOSE senate bill 22, again and again

Subject: I OPPOSE senate bill 22 and so much more (open on 4/19/11)

Dear Scott Walker,
I OPPOSE senate bill 22 and so much more. I was looking through my previous emails because I don’t want to bring up a topic that we already semi-discussed and came across my email from 4/7/11. Do you remember that one? I created a list because there was SO much happening with canvassing and Joint Finance Committee hearings. Anyway, I had Brian Deschane on the list to discuss. First of all, what ever happened with that whole situation? The last I heard, he was demoted from the head of environmental and regulatory affairs in the state Department of Commerce. Deschane was relocated to his original position of bureau director at the state Department of Regulation and Licensing. This position still pays quite well, from what I understand. http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/119283094.html Then I remember reading something about him never showing up at his old job. Is that true? What are the qualifications for that position? I personally know several teachers who are actively seeking employment because of budget uncertainty. It turns out, the tools you are giving communities are not really tools as defined by dictionary.com, “anything used as a means of accomplishing a task or purpose” with the sentence example of “Education is a tool for success.” How serendipitous! http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/tool #5
I did watch about the first hour of C-SPAN testimony in front of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Committee. You acknowledged that the hiring was not done by you directly. I understand there are many people who work for and around you and it would be impossible for you to know what everyone is doing at all times. I think it is important we remain vigilant about qualifications and efficacy of employees. I mean, teaching can’t be the only profession with ill-equipped workers. I encourage you to read my quotation at the end of my letter a little more closely. I OPPOSE senate bill 22 and so much more.
